The AIB-SE 2014 meeting will be shared between the Hotel Conrad and Florida International University’s downtown Brickell campus. Hotel Conrad will also serve as the primary conference hotel for the AIB 2014 meeting. Hotel Conrad is at the heart of Miami’s financial district with breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay and a short distance from Miami beach.
We have secured a small block of rooms at the JW Marriott in Brickell as the overflow hotel. The JW Marriott is adjacent to FIU Brickell and one short block away from the Hotel Conrad. The JW Marriott will also be the host of the opening reception on Thursday evening, October 23.

Rooms and Prices
To qualify for the discounted rates for our conference, you must identify yourself as a member of the AIB-SE 2014 Annual Meeting. You must reserve your room by September 23, 2014 to receive the special rates. Please note that the number of rooms at this rate are limited, and are available only on a first-come-first-serve basis.
AIB-SE has negotiated a special discounted rate ($189) for all conference participants, which includes high-speed wireless internet access.
Getting to the Venue
The conference will be shared between Florida International University’s downtown Brickell campus (Thursday and Friday) and the Hotel Conrad. The two buildings are a short block away from each other.
Miami International Airport (MIA) is the closest international airport. You have the following alternatives to get from MIA to the Hotel Conrad:
- Metro Rail – The Metro Rail is Miami’s elevated rapid transit system that connects the airport with downtown Miami. The Orange airport line runs every 15 The closest station to the Hotel Conrad is the Brickell Metro Rail Station, which is only a short walk away. One-way fares on the Metro Rail is $2.25.
- Taxi – A taxi ride from MIA to the Hotel Conrad will take 15 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. The cost should be around $30-35.
Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) is also a viable alternative. However, no public transportation is readily available. A taxi ride from FLL to the Hotel Conrad should be about $60-80.
