Southeast USA Chapter
TradeWinds Island Grand Resort
Welcome!
It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Academy of International Business-Southeast USA Chapter's website! As the most active Chapter in the United States, we are committed to supporting and contributing to our parent organization, the Academy of International Business-World.
Our 2009 Annual Meeting and Conference was held October 28-30, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. As in past years, our organization and annual meetings continue to grow and prosper with a variety of international research presentations from multidisciplinary perspectives. Our sincere thanks go to Steven Williamson and Cheryl Van Deusen (both from the University of North Florida), our 2009 Conference Co-Chairs, and Pingying Zhang (University of North Florida), Proceedings Editor, for their outstanding contributions to a very successful gathering.
The conference was just plain exciting! More than 60 authors from 15 states and 12 countries around the globe were represented. The Executive Committee is pleased with the high level of quality and the breadth of content across the presentations at this year’s conference. We were also able to reward a student with the William J. Ziegler Annual Best Student Paper Award We thank all of the authors, reviewers, session chairs, and discussants for their hard work and commitment to the Chapter. This conference would not be possible without the support and inspiration of all of our members.
We are delighted to announce the 2010 Conference Chair, Sue Godar (William Patterson University), and Proceedings Editor, Pingying Zhang (University of North Florida.) For 2010 meeting will be held in conjunction with the Southern Management Association. By popular demand we are headed back to St. Pete Beach, Florida, at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort. The conference dates will be October 27 to October 29, 2010. Put those dates in your calendar! We are looking forward to an exceptional experience! We encourage you to become involved with the AIB-SE this year as a paper reviewer, discussant, or session chair for the 2010 Annual Meeting and Conference in St. Pete Beach, FL.
Our annual conferences support our Chapter’s mission to encourage and assist research activities that advance knowledge of international business operations, increase the available body of teaching materials, and facilitate the exchange of information and ideas among educators and between business and academic fields.
Also consistent with and to further our mission, the Executive Committee voted unanimously three years ago to develop and publish a peer-reviewed journal – International Business: Research, Teaching, Practice. Executive Editor, Steven Williamson (University of North Florida) and Managing Editor, Neil Slough (Milwaukee Area Technical College) are proud to announce that the journal is now sponsored by the Coggin College of Business, University of North Florida. Papers for Volume 3, No. 1, are currently under review, and will be published in January 2010. We invite submissions for Volume 3, No. 2 (2010), and future volumes.
Whether you are already an active member of AIB-SE or considering membership in our organization, we thank you for considering AIB-SE as an outlet for your empirical, research, and pedagogical efforts.
Sincerely,
George Nakos
Chair, AIB-SE (USA)
